The Wensleydale Railway Association (Trust) Ltd.

Who and what are we?

The Wensleydale Railway Association (Trust) Ltd (WRA(T)) is a membership body formed from the merger of The Wensleydale Railway Association and The Wensleydale Railway Trust. The WRA(T) supports the development of the Wensleydale Railway with fundraising and providing volunteers from its membership body to help work the line and support the small number of paid staff on the Railway in all areas, from administration to operating the trains and from fundraising to repairing the track.

Alongside this, the WRA(T) aims to advance the education of the public in relation to the Wensleydale Railway and railways and other transport and also to advance and conserve the heritage of the Railway and railways in general. As part of this, one of the primary goals of the WRA(T) is to campaign for the reinstatement of the railway from Northallerton to Garsdale, which took a small step forward when trains began running to the new platform at Northallerton West at the beginning of 2015, a project that was aided by the then Wensleydale Railway Trust.
